Research Group Overview

The group’s interests include the statistical analysis of high-dimensional biological data sets from modern high throughput biological applications such as metagenomics (specifically in bacteria), as well as various modelling frameworks within the context of species distribution modelling.

Kim Kenobi’s interests include modelling the relationships between sampling effort and estimating animal abundance for marine mammals in Cardigan Bay using generalized linear modelling, generalized additive models and generalized estimating equations. He also works on modelling species distributions for bird species on both sides of the Irish Sea, assessing the effect of environmental variables (including climate change models) and land use cover (via maps obtained by remote sensing) on species abundance.
