ABERcareers is our on-line portal that gives you very easy access to our services and a whole lot more, such as:
- Employer events with graduate recruiters, placement supervisors and Aber alumni – bookable through the portal
- Career and skills workshops delivered by our Careers Consultants – also bookable through the portal
- Vacancy database with over 7000 work opportunities of all kinds from across the globe, including integrated year in industry and placement vacancies
- 1:1 careers guidance appointments with our Careers Consultants – also bookable through the portal
- Enquiries function for all your questions
- Resources to help with your career planning
Simply log in using your Aberystwyth University username and password. If you have graduated from Aberystwyth University you can continue to use this portal. Visit our Graduates page for details on how to register for access.

The Careers Service is running a series of live webinars on MS Teams to boost your employability skills during these challenging times. All webinars will be approximately 30 minutes with a 10-minute Q&A, unless otherwise stated. 7th February, 11am - Presentation skills - Graduate employers regularly ask for good communication and presentation skills. This webinar will give you an insight into the steps you can take towards developing and delivering an effective presentation.
13th February, 12pm - How to prepare for interviews - This webinar will help you prepare for upcoming interviews, with an insight into what to expect in your interview, types of questions that can come up and top tips on answering them effectively.
15th February, 11am - How to find internships and work experience - This webinar will give you an insight into techniques and resources for finding remote internships and work experience.
2nd March, 12pm - Assessment Centres - Join us in this webinar to discover what an assessment centre involves from an employer perspective. This session will include practical hints and tips on selling your skills effectively in this environment.
6th March, 2pm - Thinking about doing a Masters? - This informative session explores reasons for taking up Masters level study, how this fits within your own career thinking, alongside practical guidance on the application process.
9th March, 11am - How to network - Find out how and why you should start building your connections, how to network effectively and lots of other practical tips for making useful contacts. We will also cover how having a mentor can boost your career planning and thinking.
15th March, 11am - How you can work in the emerging green sector - With the UK government committed to a Net Zero Strategy by 2050 join this workshop to identify placements, graduate jobs and potential employers.
23rd March, 12pm - How about working for a smaller business? - This webinar will explore what it is like working, as a graduate, for a small business, as opposed to a larger organisation and will look at the specific skills requirements of smaller graduate employers
26th April, 6pm - How to create your own job - This webinar will look at self-employment and freelancing as alternative career paths to working in an estabished organisation, including details of how Aber Uni supports entrepreneurial students and graduates
